YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- A South Dakota legislative interim committee will conduct an in depth study of long term care in the state.

District 18 Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton will Chair the committee.

There have been other summer studies of long term care. Hunhoff says this one will be different.

Hunhoff says she plans to have legislation come out of this study.

The South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations says ten percent of state nursing homes have closed in the past five years.
