PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- A 32-year-old man died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday after driving erratically and displaying a firearm in the northeast part of Pierre.

Information from the South Dakota’s Division of Criminal Investigation says traffic was shut down in the area on Fourth Street about 5pm. When officers arrived and approached the parked vehicle, the driver was found deceased. Law enforcement was not on scene when the driver apparently took his own life.

No foul play is suspected.

Other agencies involved were Pierre Police Department, Hughes County Sheriff’s Office, American Medical Response and Hughes County Coroner’s Office.
