PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 5 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases decreased & hospitalizations increased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,214. The state had 435 new cases and 458 recoveries, decreasing active infections to 327. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 48.
So far, South Dakota has had 281,443 cases and 277,902 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 19 new cases. Overall, the county has had 12,274 cases. There’s currently 137 Covid-related deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 65,632 cases, followed by Pennington County with 39,246 and Lincoln County with 17,607, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,746, Brookings with 9,554, Meade with 8,440, Lawrence with 7,821, and Davison with 7,150.
