PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio.com) – The state reported 6 new COVID-related deaths, while active cases increased & hospitalizations decreased, according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health. The death total currently at 3,229. The state had 277 new cases and 265 recoveries, increasing active infections to 209. Those hospitalized in connection with the virus is 33.

So far, South Dakota has had 282,679 cases and 279,241 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 14 new cases. Overall, the county has had 12,311 cases. There’s currently 139 Covid-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 65,878 cases, followed by Pennington County with 39,382 and Lincoln County with 17,663, Other counties totals include Codington with 10,804, Brookings with 9,596, Meade with 8,482, Lawrence with 7,884, and Davison with 7,181.
