PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The North American Electric Reliability Corporation has issued warnings about summertime power production and usage.

South Dakota Public Utilities Commissioner Chris Nelson says there could be problems if something unusual happens.

Nelson says the northern plains produces more than enough electricity.

Nelson says problems could develop between electric generation regions.

Nelson says they continue to work with the six utilities they regulate to coordinate power production reliability.
