ABERDEEN, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – On Tuesday’s edition of “The Sports Hub” David Tukesbrey caught up with one of the voices of the Brown County Speedway, Rusty Rokit to recap Friday night.
He said with the dry and windy conditions, the track played a bit different. Blake Whitlock used that to his advantage in the “Super Stocks.”
In the WISSOTA Modifieds, there was a first time winner and he is from right here in the Hub City.
Rusty gives us a look at what’s ahead at the Speedway this upcoming Friday.
In the back half of the show, the Aberdeen Central Football + T&F Star, Aiden Heimann, joined Tukes to talk about his weekend in Sioux Falls at the State Track Meet from Howard Wood & his high school career & what’s next.
Heimann reflects on the brotherhood of the 4x400M relay team.
What makes a good relay team? Heimann says it’s all about being able to ignite a competitive fire within each other.
Last year, Heimann placed first in the 300M hurdles. This year, he was the hunted and had a bullseye on his back. He repeated as a two-time champion.
Finally, he talked about the importance of good sleep & proper nutrition. To be a successful athlete & have a great performance, you need a great night sleep & disconnect from technology to mentally prepare.
Next year, Heimann will be a Jimmie, as he’ll play football & compete in track and field for the University of Jamestown.
