ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Joe Heinrich, executive director for Smart Carbon Network offer their take on the issue of CO2 pipelines that could be making their ways through the eastern parts of South Dakota.

Heinrich offer his reaction to the Property Right Roundup that was held in Pierre on Thursday.

Heinrich address why the pipeline is a safer route that either roads or railroads.

CO2 pipelines have been used elsewhere in the U.S. since the early 1970s.  Heinrich talks about how they are built to be as safe as possible.

Heinrich how the pipeline can be a cash cow for the state of South Dakota.

Heinrich talks about the long term effect including ways CO2 can be a product going forward.

There are no plans for a drop off site in South Dakota.  Summit Carbon Solution’s pipeline ends in North Dakota while Navigator’s drop off is in Illinois.

Heinrich saids that Smart Carbon Network has no official stance when it comes to eminent domain but encourage businesses to try to avoid it as much as they can.
