STURGIS, S.D.(KBHB) – You’ve probably noticed – more and more motorcycles are heading into Sturgis. And that means more and more traffic control is popping up as the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally looms.
Among the changes – various stop lights around town have been activated and traffic control signs are being placed in residential areas.
Next week, the city will additional stop signs on Junction and Lazelle.
Rick Bush with the City of Sturgis says the purpose of adding these signs is for the safety of everyone.
Along Lazelle Street, garbage cans have already been placed in anticipation for the growing crowds over the next week. And vendors have also begun to set up. There are several that are already open and ready for business.
The 83rd annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally officially begins August 4th, but appears to be already here.
