PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – While the 2020 elections seem to be a long ways off, preparations are underway.
South Dakota Secretary of State Steve Barnett says they have had meetings on election security.
Barnett says most of the issues in the 2016 and 2018 elections were with misinformation, not direct attacks on the voting process.
Barnett says even if voter registration information is compromised, voting can go on.
The primary next year will be on June 2, with early voting starting on April 17.
