PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The new Superintendent of the South Dakota Highway Patrol says it takes a special person to be a state trooper.
Colonel Rick Miller says they are looking for new recruits.
Miller says they have openings they are trying to fill.
The Patrol is offering a $5,000 hiring incentive to any certified law officer that applies and is hired.
Miller became the head of the Highway Patrol last month.
