BRITTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The interim Committee to Redefine Nursing Home Criteria of the South Dakota legislature meets for the first time today.

Member, Senator Susan Wismer of Britton says they will look at ongoing changes to the nursing home at the Human Services Center.

Wismer says the patients are at the Human Services Center because local nursing homes can’t handle them.

Wismer says it’s a difficult issue to solve.

Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton is Chair of this subcommittee, while Senator Deb Soholt of Sioux Falls is Chair of the overall Mental Health study.
