A Minnesota church donated groceries to citizens in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- The Iglesia Ni Cristo Church, from St. Paul Minnesota, made the trip to the Black Hills to give groceries to community members in need Tuesday.

Ferdinand De Dios, minister for the church, says the drive to Rapid City was a long, but worthwhile trip to help members of the community facing food insecurity.

De Dios said it’s a multi-congregational effort from the “Northern Midwest” region of the church, aimed at those in need and first responders.

De Dios said firefighters weren’t the only first responders they wanted to support though.

The event, hosted in the Rapid City Dahl Arts Center, drew hundreds of people according to De Dios.
