AAA predict busy Thanksgiving travel weekend

PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Thanksgiving is coming up on Thursday and travel is again expected to be up over last year.  Shawn Steward with Triple-A South Dakota says nearly 275-thousand South Dakotans will be leaving home for Thanksgiving.

Steward says an increase in travel for Thanksgiving this is expected across the country.

Steward says if you are traveling this holiday, it will probably cost less to do so.

Last year Triple-A South Dakota responded to 700 calls for emergency roadside service during the 2024 Thanksgiving travel period.  The biggest reasons for those called include vehicles needing  a tow, tire issues and dead batteries.
