PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- School may be out for summer but that makes summer a deadly time for teen drivers on South Dakota roads. Shawn Steward with Triple A South Dakota says they refer to the period from Memorial Day to Labor Day as the 100 Deadliest Days for teen motorists.
Steward says parents play a big part in instilling safe driving practices with young drivers.
Technology can help parents put their kids in the right lane of safety.
From 2019 to 223, nationwide, over 13-thousand people have been killed in crashes involving a teen driver with over 30-percent of those happening in the 100 Deadliest Days between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
