Aberdeen Central ATEC has exciting plans for funds from an awarded Grant

Aberdeen, SD (Hub City Radio)

Last week we announced that ACHS ATEC has been awarded the Perkins Reserve Grant.. The South Dakota Perkins Reserve Grant aids schools in equipping students with current technologies, resources, and tools, offering students a realistic, hands-on learning experience that will strengthen their marketability to colleges or employers once they leave the K-12 education system. Author of the proposal, Roby Johnson, ATEC Academy Director told us about a specific need these funds help fill.

Having the most up to date and modern equipment to train, learn and use will only help students in future endeavors and careers. Johnson said they looked for advice and considered a lot of aspects to make sure their choice was a good fit.

Johnson said CTE or Career Technical Education is in high demand right now as employers are recognizing and realizing how valuable an education in the trades can be.

Now they wait patiently and prepare to hit the ground running when the new machine arrives.
