Aberdeen Central High School student named Heroine of the Year

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At Monday night City Council meeting, 15-year-old Emma Keefe was awarded Heroine of the Year by the 40-8 Locale 146.

Chef de Gare Ron Krogman details a series of firsts that led to saving the life of Emma’s mother Amanda.

Krogman acknowledge that everyone involve are heroes.

Keefe was trained on CPR by Katy Grote who’s a teacher at Aberdeen Central High School.  Keefe at the same time called 911 and got a hold of Sierra Kamin.

Officer Ethan Traster of the Aberdeen Police Department arrived on the scene & took over CPR from Keefe.

At the meeting Krogman awarded Keefe with Heroine of the Year.

Grote talks about why she started offering CPR classes at the high school.
