ABERDEEN, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – The Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles have their next head coach.
According to the Aberdeen School District’s Facebook page, former Aberdeen Central grad & SDSU Jackrabbit alumi, Paiton Burckhard will be the next head coach for the squad. During her time with the Golden Eagles, she helped lead Aberdeen Central to two state titles in 2016 & 2018.
On her Facebook page, Burckhard wrote: “I’m so excited to get to work & to be back in the great community of Aberdeen. (Blue & Gold) forever!”

ABERDEEN, SD (Press Release) – The Aberdeen Public School District is excited to announce the hiring of Paiton Burckhard as the head coach of the girls basketball program for the 2024-25 season at Central High School. Paiton is a graduate of Aberdeen Central High School as well as a former athlete. Paiton helped to lead the Golden Eagles to state championships in 2016 and 2018. Following graduation at CHS, she attended South Dakota State University where she was a standout basketball player for the Jackrabbits. Paiton is currently working to complete her masters degree in speech pathology at the University of South Dakota.

I am beyond excited to get right to work and be a part of a winning culture. I know that with the support of administration, coaching colleagues, and the Aberdeen community we can accomplish great things. The players and staff have a lot of work to do and I cannot wait to get started!
