Aberdeen City Council canvass results from Tuesday’s elections

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council on Friday canvassed and certified the vote that was held this past Tuesday for the municipal elections.

City Attorney Ron Wager(Wag-er) went over the procedure for canvassing the results.

Heupel talks about the definition of an over vote.

Heupel was asked with Chad Nilson winning the election by just one vote over Kurt Preszler about a possible recount.

Clarify that is five working days, so the deadline for a recount request is Friday, June 13th.

Aberdeen City Council approved the canvassing of the votes.

Also in the same meeting, the council addressed whether Talmage Ekanger who won the election can start serving the council immediately.

City Council approved the motion and Talmage was immediately sworn in afterward.
