Aberdeen City Council held work session Monday about 2025 budget

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council held a work session on Monday addressing the upcoming 2025 budget.

Aberdeen Finance Director Jordan McQuillen discuss three main components to the budget.

McQuillen talks about the projected sales taxes for 2025.

Aberdeen City Manager Robin Bobzien discuss budget projections for the various water projects.

Bonds could also be an option for the project as well.

Bobzien also address what could happen if IM28(repeal of consumption tax) could have on the upcoming budget if passed by the voters in November.

Bobzien talks about the capital investment plans that would be a part of this budget.

Bobzien also talks about some of the roadwork that could be done in the city for 2025.

Bobzien also reiterate the importance of compensating the staff that works for the city of Aberdeen.

The budget for 2025 is projected to be around $135 million which would be a record for the city of Aberdeen.
