Aberdeen City Council held work session on Monday

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council held a work session on Monday prior to their meeting.  The focus was on the Aberdeen Park, Recreation, and Forestry Department.

Director Matt Braun goes over the enterprise fund which is separate from their general fund for Wylie Park.

Braun discuss figures for the former Presentation College locations now owned by the City.  This deal primarily the Dome and the Strode Center.

Councilman Rich Ward commented on the future of these locations.

The President of the board, David Sandvig offered a concern about the line between public access compare to private access.

Mayor Travis Schaunaman offered a response to that.

Aberdeen Economic Development Director Amber Schwab compared Aberdeen to other location similar in size.

The board also released their five year Capital plan as they prepare to budget for 2027 and beyond.
