Aberdeen City Council passes first reading of ordinance allowing golf carts on streets

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council heard the first reading on an ordinance that would golf carts to be driven on city streets in Aberdeen.

City Manager Joe Gaa provided an update on the fees to allow golf carts on the streets.

Mayor Travis Schaunaman explain why this ordinance came about.

City Attorney Ron Wager talks about who would be allow to drive golf carts on the street.

The council voted unanimously on the first reading.  Second reading should be next Monday.

If passed, golf carts will be permitted on streets with speed limits not more than 25mph.
