ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Monday night, the Aberdeen City Council set the fees & charges for services for the city of Aberdeen.  One of the fees discussed was cost to start a cannabis business.

City Finance Officer Karl Alberts:

Council Woman Tiffany Langer express concerns about the initial fee being too costly, City Manager Gaa reminds everyone that anybody can apply for a cannabis license.

Councilman Clint Rux talks about the cost of starting a medical cannabis business.

Councilman Mark Remily asks what the impact recreational marijuana could have on medical cannabis going forward.

Fees & charges if approved also dealt with overnight parking, snow removal among other things.

The 1st reading was approved on unanimous vote(8-0).  2nd reading is scheduled for next Monday’s city council meeting.
