ABERDEEN, S.D. (Hub City Radio)- The Aberdeen City Council will hold a special session on Monday at the Aberdeen Civic Theater beginning at 5:30pm.  This session will allows the public an opportunity to express their views on data centers.  The city are working on an ordinance looking to establish guidelines for data centers within the city limits.

Aberdeen Deputy Mayor Alan Johnson remind everyone that the moratorium on data centers are in place now until November.

Johnson goes over the procedures they will be following for the session.

They will treat this like doing open forum at the start of each city council meeting.  Speech will be limited to three minutes until it involves a group.  They will allow extra time for group participation.

Johnson believes this is an opportunity for the public to deliver their views either for or against data centers.

There are also guidelines in place for the audience.  They are the following:

• No excessive hand clapping, feet stomping, whistling or noise making
• No display of profanity or obscene language
• No yelling, demonstrations, loud or boisterous behavior
• No personal attacks or threats on others

You are required to get registered at the lobby outside of the theater in order to speak.  Registration deadline is 6pm.  The order of speaking will be as they appear on the sheet.
