Aberdeen City Council transfer funds for 2026 budget

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen City Council on Monday look to transfer funds for their 2026 budget that was passed last year.

Aberdeen Finance Officer Jordan McQuillen went over the funding for the Aberdeen Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department.

Total amount was around $36,700.

McQuillen also went over other transfers starting with utility fees.

McQuillen also discuss funding from parking moving them to signage.

McQuillen goes over some of the transfers that they are doing.

The Aberdeen budget for 2026 is around 5.583 million dollars.  The transfers are not increasing or decreasing the budget in the city.  The city council approved first reading of these two ordinances.  Second reading is schedule for Monday, May 18th.
