Aberdeen City Manager provided update on upcoming 2025 budget

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Toward the end of Monday night’s Aberdeen City Council meeting, Aberdeen City Manager Robin Bobzien provided an update on next year’s city budget.

Bobzien credited Aberdeen Finance Manager Jordan McQuillen with helping him with his first budget since being named City Manager.

Bobzien also acknowledged the departments for prioritizing their needs in the next budget.

Bobzien talks about the budgets some of the various departments.  These figures are unofficial at this time.

Bobzien reminds the council that last year was the first year the city budgeted over $100 million.  This year’s budget is projected to be even bigger.

Bobzien also update everyone on the debt situation with the city.

Bobzien also addressed the promotional fund that the city hope to put in for the next budget.

The Aberdeen City Council will be doing a work session to address the 2025 budget on Monday, August 12th at 5pm.  The session is opened to the public.
