ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- It’s going to be a busy couple of days at Malchow Plaza starting Friday.
COLLEGEpalooza will kick it off Friday from 5-7pm. This allows the public an opportunity to welcome in students going to either Northern State University or Presentation College.
That will be followed by the final concert in the Summer Concert Series presented by the Aberdeen Downtown Association.
Executive Director Shelley Westra-Heier talks about the opening act starting at 6:30pm.
Million Dollar Reunion will be the feature act at 7pm. Westra-Heier talks about what they are.
The weather forecast for Friday calls for some potential bad weather to come in. The event has been moved to the Civic Arena.
On Saturday will be the second annual Strider Cup that will begin at 9:30am. Westra-Heier provides a preview.
The course will be on 5th Avenue between Main Street and Lincoln Street.
There will be four age brackets: 1-2 year olds, 3-4 year olds, 5-6 year olds and 7-8 year olds.
Strider bikes will be provided and kids are welcome to bring their own helmets.
At 10:30am, Storybook Land Theatre Summertime Smile Factory Band will be performing. The group will play a variety of music from country to rock.
The day wraps up with Sizzlin’ Summer Nights Car & Bike Show that runs from 4-8pm.
Kid’s Car Show from 4-6pm(registration beginning at 3pm) sponsored by the Aberdeen Conventions & Visitors Bureau.
Westra-Heier talks about the Bike Show that will begin at Melgaard Park.
Parking is free to the public however if you want to do reserve parking, there is a $25 fee for that. At 8pm there will be a parade and Westra-Heier talks about the route for the parade.
Food Vendors & a Beer Garden will be operating both Friday & Saturday.
