Aberdeen Fire Rescue offering EMT course this winter

ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- Aberdeen Fire Rescue is providing an Emergency Medical Technicians Course this winter / spring. Course will begin January 10th 2022 and complete on April 27th 2022. Class times are from 6 pm till 10 pm on Monday and Wednesday nights. There are 4 scheduled Saturdays with class time from 9 am till 5 pm. This course attempts to mirror the 2022 NSU Academic calendar.

The cost of the course is $850.00 and must be paid in full prior to the course beginning unless other arrangements have been made. To hold your spot a background check must be completed by the city of Aberdeen and payment received by December 31st 2021.

This class is partnered with Northern State University with college credits available. You will need to contact Northern State University to secure credits. There may be an additional charge for the credits which is paid independently to Northern State University.

Upon completion of this course you will be eligible to complete the NREMT, National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, certification exam. You are required to complete this national exam to become a State of South Dakota Emergency Medical Technician. This national exam which is recognized by 46 states and is used for initial state licensure or certification.
