ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release) – On May 26, 2023 at approximately 9:40am Aberdeen Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 500 block of 19th Ave NE. When fire crews arrived, smoke was observed coming from the single family home. Fire crews made entry and found fire in the basement mechanical room. The fire was quickly extinguished and smoke was vented.  No occupants were home at the time of fire. Along with fire damage, there is significant smoke and water damage throughout the house. The exact cause remains under investigation.  No injuries were noted.

On May 27, 2023 at approximately 11am Aberdeen Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 600 block of S 9th Street. When fire crews arrived, light smoke was observed coming from the attic area of a single family home. Fire crews made entry and found active fire in the ceiling towards the front of home. The fire was quickly extinguished and smoke was vented. Three occupants were home and able to evacuate without injury. Along with fire damage, there is water and smoke damage in various portions of residence. The exact cause remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
