ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The Midwest Shrine Convention will take place in Aberdeen July 31-Aug. 3. There are a variety of activities planned, including two parades, a concert and competitions.
Devin Reints, Director General, said that Aberdeen last hosted the event in 2008. He said Shriners will start showing up on Wednesday, but that everything kicks off on Thursday.
Friday includes a full slate of activities as well.
The convention concludes on Saturday with another parade, this time at 10:30 a.m. starting near Holgate, winding through a part of town and finishing at the Brown County Fairgrounds.
He said there will be hundreds of Shriners in town.
Reints said hosting the convention takes plenty of planning and coordination.
