ABERDEEN, S.D.– An Aberdeen man convicted of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person was sentenced recently.
Forty six year-old Tujuane Lowry was sentenced to seven years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
Lowry was indicted by a federal grand jury last August. He pleaded guilty in May.
The conviction stemmed from an incident on June 18, 2022, in Aberdeen, when Lowry was observed on video holding a handgun he had pulled from a white tube sock.
He was also observed on the video using methamphetamine.
Lowry is a felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms. The firearm was later recovered by law enforcement and determined to have been stolen.
