Aberdeen Parks & Rec offering ice skating lessons beginning January 10th

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department will be offering its second sessions of youth ice skating lessons starting on Monday, January 10.  Lessons will be taught indoors at the Odde Ice Arena, at the Brown County Fairgrounds.

The Learn to Skate USA program is used for the skating lessons.  The Snow Plow Sam program is for 5 year olds.  The Basics program has specific skills to be accomplished at each level.  For details on these levels, contact the Department Office.

Session C will be taught on Mondays and Wednesdays with the Snow Plow Sam, Basic 1 and 2 classes from 4:30-5:00 p.m., Snow Plow Sam, Basic 3 and 4 classes from 5:00-5:30 p.m., and Basic 1 and 2 and Basic 5 and 6 classes from 5:30-6:00 p.m.  The five-week session goes from January 10 to February 9.

Session D will also be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the Snow Plow Sam, Basic 1 and 2 classes from 4:30-5:00 p.m., Snow Plow Sam and Basic 1 and 2 classes from 5:00-5:30 p.m., Basic 3 and 4 and PreFreeskate/Freeskate classes from 5:30-6:00 p.m.  The five-week session goes from January 11 to February 10.

The fee for the class is $19.17 per person for the session.  Skates are available for use during lessons.
