Aberdeen Police address a mental health crisis

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Wednesday, the Aberdeen Police Department address an individual dealing with a mental health crisis.

The police arrived to find the individual naked and uncooperative.  The person started running away from the police toward the 700 block on 6th Ave SE.  The individual continued to be combative and started kicking police vehicle and continued to be unresponsive to police orders.

Aberdeen police tried to tased him with no effect.  The indvidual tried to pick up a concrete stop sign.  Finally a Brown County Sheriff’s officer used his taser which proved to be effective.

The individual was arrested and charged with the following:

Obstructing law enforcement officer, firefighter, or emergency management personnel

Resisting arrest
