ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen Police Department on Thursday responded to animal neglect reported to them at the 800 block of South Lawson Street.

When police arrived, they witnessed cats, dog, small rodents, fish, and other animals living in unsanitary conditions.

Some animals in the location were already dead and were decomposing.

Those living were removed and sent to various animal humane locations for treatments and evaluations.

The police wanted to thank the following organizations for their assistance:

Aberdeen Area Humane Society

Pet Rescue League

Community Service Officers

The investigation is still ongoing.  No names were released at this time.
