Great news, Joe was found. He was found safe and sound inside a garage in his neighborhood.
We want to extend our sincere thanks to the community for your help in looking for Joe and spreading awareness.
Multiple agencies helped search, including Refuge Retreat Staff, Brown County Emergency Management and CERT, Aberdeen Public Works, Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Brown County Dispatch, South Dakota Highway Patrol, South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks, Aberdeen Fire and Rescue, North Dakota Highway Patrol with Search and Rescue Dogs, South Dakota DCI, Burlington Northern Railroad, and all the volunteers and citizens who donated their time.
**UPDATE: As of 11:25 a.m., we are still looking for Joe Bauer. We have searched around his neighborhood very thoroughly. Please check your garages, vehicles, or any unlocked areas. Joe may have got tired and sat down. He might not be immediately visible.

We are looking for a missing elderly man, who has dementia. Joe Bauer has been missing since 5:30 a.m. this morning from a residence on Lancelot Drive.
Joe is a 5’8” and 195 lbs, white male. Unknown clothing description. It is believed he walked away from his residence.
For those living in the North part of town, please check your property, including outbuildings and vehicles for Joe. Currently, multiple agencies are actively searching for Joe.
