Aberdeen Police report gunshots around the 10 block of 13th Ave SE

ABERDEEN, S.D.(Press Release)- On Thursday, at approximately 10:24 pm, an APD officer was on a traffic stop near S Main St & 4th Ave when he heard gunshots several blocks south of his location.
He cleared his stop and responded to the area. As he was responding, Brown County Dispatch began fielding several calls about the gunshots and identified the area as the 10 block of 13th Ave SE.
When officers arrived in the area, they met with witnesses who stated the shots were fired by someone inside a sedan that was dark in color. The vehicle sped away, traveling northbound on Lincoln St, after the shots were fired.
Several spent shell casings were located in the roadway. There have been no reports of anyone being injured as a result of the gunshots and no damaged property has been located.
This morning, officers and investigators are in the area attempting to locate any additional witnesses and evidence.
We are asking anyone who lives in the area to check their homes for any potential damage. We are also asking anyone who lives near this area to check their home camera systems for any potential video of the suspect vehicle.
