ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen Police Department responded to an incident at 500 block of South First Street. According to their press release:
“On August 5th at about 4:30 this morning, officers with the Aberdeen Police Department were dispatched to a report of an assault in an apartment building located in the 500 block of S. 1st Street. When officers arrived, they found two people with blood on them and one of the subjects was injured significantly.
A 67-year-old male was transported by ambulance to Avera St. Lukes Hospital and was treated for lacerations and blunt force trauma to the head and neck. Eventually, he was transferred to Avera McKennan Hospital and taken by air to Sioux Falls.
A 26-year-old male suspect has been arrested and booked on felony assault charges. The suspect and the victim are known to each other and there was no danger to the public. The Aberdeen Police Department continues to investigate the incident.”
