ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The battle against mosquitoes is right around the corner.
So far, the Aberdeen area has been dealing with insects that look like mosquitoes, but they are actually midges, according to Mark Hoven, Director of Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry.
He said the lack of moisture this spring could have an impact on the Culex mosquitoes, the ones known to carry the West Nile Virus.
Hoven said it is difficult to predict right now just how much impact the Culex mosquitoes will have on the area this summer.
