Aberdeen Public Schools now accepting registration for incoming kindergarten students for 2021-22

ABERDEEN,S.D.(Press Release)- The Aberdeen Public Schools is currently accepting registrations for all incoming kindergarten students for the 2021-22 school year.  Parents are asked to register online.  The registration link can be found at http://www.aberdeen.k12.sd.us/ under the District Information tab.  Parents can also register at their neighborhood school between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  Early registration is encouraged since some classes fill quickly which results in a few students being required to attend kindergarten outside their home area.

The child must be five years old by September 1, 2021.  Parents are asked to bring the child’s birth certificate and immunization records to the registration.  Proof of residency is also required(purchase agreement, rental agreement, utility bill–something with your name and and address on it).  The child need not be present for registration.  Public elementary schools to contact for registration include:

If parents have concerns about a child’s kindergarten readiness, they are encouraged to visit with the building principal at their attendance site.  Five year olds may also go through the DIAL screening which is held monthly, September through March.  To make an appointment for the DIAL screening, please call 725-7146.
