ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The City of Aberdeen Public Works Department has release their snow removal plans for the upcoming fall/winter season.
The City of Aberdeen has designated streets as “Emergency Snow Routes.” Those streets and avenue are first priority for snow and ice removal due to high volume, high speed, commercial districts, and streets that serve hospitals and schools. They normally begin those at 6am.
When heavy snow is forecasted or is occuring, the city will declare a Snow Removal Alert. At that time, parking restrictions will go into effect.
Emergency Snow Routes(Arterial Routes) need no declaration for snow removal prior to ticketing and towing. Parking will be prohibited what snowfall exceed 2 inches.
North/South Streets and cul-de-sec in Zone 2 will begin plowing at 7am the day of snow removal.
East/West Avenues will begin plowing at 1pm the same day.
Commercial Zones will be night-time operations.
Reminder, after plowing is complete, no residents are allow to blade the snow back on to the street.
Sidewalk Rules:
Snow and ice must be removed within 48 hours of the snowfall end.
