ABERDEEN, S.D.(Hub City Radio)- The Aberdeen School board looked into the budget for the upcoming 2026-27 school year.

Finance Director Michaela Solum went over the balance for the past school year.

Solum projected the budget for the next school year at over 63 million dollars.  She went over some of the increases from the previous year’s budget.

Solum also discussed where some of the funding will be coming from.

The board approved the preliminary 2026-27 budget.  Final adoption will be voted on in September.

Also the Aberdeen School Board approved meal prices for the upcoming year.

Elementary:

Breakfast $2.85 – full $0.00 – reduced
Lunch $3.95 – full $0.00 – reduced

Middle School:

Breakfast $3.00 – full $0.00 – reduced
Lunch $4.10 – full $0.00 – reduced

CHS:

Breakfast $3.20 – full $0.00 – reduced
Lunch $4.40 – full $0.00 – reduced

Adult:

Breakfast $3.65  Lunch $5.50
