ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Aberdeen School Board held their first meeting for the 2026-27 term.

The first order of business was to swear in Brian Sharp, Aaron Schultz, and Elliot Gall.  Aberdeen School District Finance Director Michaela Solum:

The board elected Brian Sharp to be the new president with Brad Olson the vice president.  Past several years Aaron Schultz served as the role of the president.  Board member Brad Olson thanked Schultz for what he had done.

New president Brian Sharp continued with the Organizational phase of the meeting.  Sharp went over the dates that the meeting will be taking place.

Sharp went over the banks chosen for financing.

Sharp went over the issue of crime insurance and a question was asked whether $150,000 would be enough to cover.

The School Board also chose the Aberdeen Insider to be the official newspaper of the board.
