ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – It promises to be a huge month of BMX racing in Aberdeen coming up.
The local track will be hosting the Hub City Nationals for the first time ever. That takes place Aug. 7-9. The track will then host the state meet Labor Day Weekend, an event that has found a home in the Hub City for more than a decade.
Eric Farthing of Aberdeen BMX said the national meet will feature nearly 1,000 riders from more than 40 states and several countries.
With a meet of that nature, many volunteers will be needed. Farthing said local officials are looking for between 50 and 60 volunteers, mainly to help with parking.
BMX is a sport for all ages. Farthing said individuals as young as 2 and as old as 70 compete.
Farthing is excited about the upcoming weeks as BMX will take center stage in the Hub City.
