Minot Minotauros  5-4

The Minotauros stormed back to beat the Wings in NoDak Friday, 5-4.  Down 4-2, Minot scored a trio of goals in the 3rd period for the victory, with the tying & winning goals coming on the power play.  Colton Huard’s 1st goal of the year tied the game at one for Aberdeen in the 1st frame.  Joe Strada & Stepan Pokorny made it a 3-1 lead halfway into the contest.  After a Minot goal less than a minute later, Strada scored w/ 3min and change to go in the 2nd to retake the 2-goal advantage.  Thomas Rocco added two assists for Aberdeen in the loss.

The Aberdeen Wings locked up the Central Division regular season title Saturday as Stepan Pokorny lit the lamp at 3:01 of overtime for a 4-3 win.  It was his 2nd goal of the game.  John Sladic had a goal and an assist for the Wings while Joe Strada also got himself on the scoresheet.  Matt Vernon denied 32 Minot opportunities, while Ben Garrity made 40 saves in the loss.  Wings forward Brad Belisle had two assists in the game which gave him 65 points on the year.  That sets a franchise record for points in a season, surpassing Cory Ward (63).  The Wings have also set a new franchise record for wins in a season with 40.
