INDIANAPOLIS, I.N.(WNAX)- The growing heat wave could be signs of what to expect in the next few weeks and months.
Beth Hall, Indiana State Climatologist, moderated this months North Central Regional Climate update and says they see La Nina possibly hanging on for a third year.
Hall says the building heat has a direct impact on soil moisture and the chances for rain.
Hall says the outlooks show warmer conditions into mid summer.
Hall says there is growing concern about the possibility of a so called “flash drought” over much of the northern plains into July and August.
