Absentee voting underway for city election

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The city election in Aberdeen is still a few weeks away, but some voters are taking advantage of the absentee voting period.

The June 4 election features two races. In the mayor’s race, Travis Schaunaman is running against incumbent Mike Levsen. In the race for NW City Council, Josh Rife is running against incumbent Jennifer Slaight-Hansen.

Jeannette McClain, Brown County Deputy Auditor for Elections, talked about the absentee totals so far.

She said that people can vote absentee up until the day of the election and need to have a photo ID with them.

McClain said voting absentee has one major plus.
