PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The interim director of South Dakota’s Division of Criminal Investigation says they are focused on getting a handle on increasing violent crimes.

Chad Mosteller says he is concerned about officer involved shootings.

Mosteller says the DCI will back up local law enforcement when and where they need to.

Mosteller was appointed by interim Attorney General Mark Vargo.

Both Vargo and Mosteller will serve until a new Attorney General is sworn in in January.
