Active COVID-19 cases up slightly statewide, down slightly in Brown Co.

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The number of active cases of COVID-19 rose slightly today and there was one new death.

The state reported 30 new confirmed cases to go along with 16 recoveries. That increased the amount of active cases by 13 at 1,033. There were also 710 new negative tests.

The death of a Meade County resident moved the total number of COVID-related deaths in the state to 65.

Overall, South Dakota has had 5,277 confirmed cases with 4,179 recoveries. The state has also had 48,086 negative tests.

Locally, Brown County’s number of active cases decreased by three. There was one new case reported today along with four new recoveries, leaving 59 active cases in the county. Overall, Brown County has had 291 confirmed cases, 231 recoveries and 1,716 negative tests.

Minnehaha County, which leads the state with 3,387 confirmed cases, had just two new confirmed cases today. Beadle County has 343 confirmed cases, Pennington 284, and Lincoln 246.
