Active COVID cases continue downward trend

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Active COVID-19 infection cases have been trending down for the last several weeks in South Dakota.

State Epidemiologist Dr. Josh Clayton says there is still a gap between reported cases and the total number of infected people.

Clayton says they don’t have any good information related to the decreasing cases.

Clayton says it appears people are taking more precautions against the virus.
