Active COVID cases drops by 70 statewide

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The number of active cases of COVID-19 dropped by 70 today according to the South Dakota Department of Health.

The state reported 58 new cases and also 127 new recoveries, lowering the number of active cases to 875 (there were 801 active cases a week ago). There was one new death reported bringing that total to 98, and five new hospitalizations leaving that mark at 64.

In all, South Dakota has had 7,163 confirmed cases, 6,190 recoveries, and 78,202 negative tests.

Locally, Brown County reported one new confirmed case and four new recoveries, lowering the number of active cases to 17. In all, the county has had 350 confirmed cases, 331 recoveries, 3,198 negative tests and two deaths.

Minnehaha County has had 3,685 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington with 590, Beadle with 545, and Lincoln with 371.
