Active COVID cases in South Dakota drop by 19

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The number of active cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota continues to decrease.

The Department of Health reported today that the state had 59 new cases to go along with 78 new recoveries. That lowers the active cases to 810 (there were 928 a week ago).

South Dakota has had 6,109 confirmed cases, 5,221 recoveries, and 64,244 negative tests. The number of deaths remained at 78, while the number of people currently hospitalized went up two to 93.

Brown County reported four new cases and three new recoveries to move the active cases to 23. The county has had 319 confirmed cases, 294 recoveries and 2,386 negative tests.

Minnehaha County added 14 new cases to move its total to 3,513 confirmed cases. Beadle County added five new cases to push its confirmed cases to 472, while Pennington County reported six new cases and now has had 430 confirmed cases.
